Jun Matsumoto is a\u00a0member of Japanese boy band, Arashi. Not only is he a singer, but is an actor and a radio host as well. His nickname is MatsuJun.<\/p>\n

He was born in August 30, 1983<\/strong><\/h5>\n

His grandmother wanted to name him Jun with a Kanji character of \u7d14.<\/p>\n

However, other family members suggested it would be difficult to spell that character, and there is a canned drink with a label with the word, \u7d14 in their house at the time. It would be cheap to name their child the same name with the drink, so they went with a different spelling, \u6f64.<\/p>\n

He has an older sister<\/strong><\/h5>\n

His sister is 3 years older than June. When she was little, she was a big fan of Kinki Kids, another boy band consisting of two members; Tsuyoshi Domoto and Koichi Domoto.<\/p>\n

She wanted to get close to them so she decided to send an application for his little brother to the talent agency, Johnnys, where Kinki Kids belonged.<\/p>\n

She also calls her brother, MatsuJun.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0joined Johnnys at age 12<\/strong><\/h5>\n

After his sister sent in the application to Johnnys for his little brother, he was acceptted without any auditions.<\/p>\n

It took the agency only 1.5 months to give him a call he passed the screening.<\/p>\n

There are only five other members at Johnnys who were able to join the agency without any auditions;<\/p>\n
